The Borasu Pass is a high-altitude pass located between the rugged mountains of Uttarakhand and Himachal Pradesh in India. Historically significant, it served as a trade route connecting the Har Ki Dun Valley in Uttarakhand with the Kinnaur Valley in Himachal Pradesh. Situated just a few kilometers from the Tibet border, the pass offers a unique vantage point with stunning views and rich historical relevance.

Day 1: Pick Up from Dehradun Railway Station and Drive to Sankri (Base Camp)

  • Distance: 210 km
  • Duration: 8-9 hours
  • Mode of Journey: By taxi or Traveller
  • Altitude at Sankri: 1920 meters
  • Night Stay: Hotel on a twin-share basis

Trek on India will pick you up from Dehradun Railway Station around 6:00 am to 7:00 am. Enjoy a scenic drive through Dehradun, Mussoorie, and Kempty Falls. After a brief stop for breakfast, proceed through Nainbagh, Damta, and Naugaon. Lunch will be at Purola. Continue via Jarmola and Mori, passing through a check post. Arrive at Sankri, the trek base camp. Freshen up and enjoy evening snacks on the open terrace with stunning views. Dinner and overnight stay at the hotel.

Day 2: Drive from Sankri to Taluka and Trek to Cheludgad Camp

  • Total Distance: 23 km (11 km by taxi, 12 km on foot)
  • Altitude at Cheludgad Camp: 2600 meters
  • Night Stay: Campsite on a twin-share basis

After breakfast, drive to Taluka and start the trek. Pass through dense forests and the Supin River, and reach the village of Dhatmir. Continue through meadows and forest sections, and cross a bridge to Cheludgad campsite. Set up camp and enjoy the evening.

Day 3: Trek from Cheludgad Camp to Har Ki Dun Camp

  • Distance: 13 km
  • Duration: 6-7 hours
  • Altitude at Har Ki Dun Camp: 3645 meters
  • Night Stay: Campsite on a twin-share basis

Trek through diverse landscapes, crossing the Supin River and passing the Osla Village. Ascend through grasslands and rocky trails. Reach Har Ki Dun, known for its rich flora and fauna. Enjoy the beautiful views and the serene environment.

Day 4: Trek from Har Ki Dun Camp to Ratta Dho Camp

  • Distance: 8 km
  • Duration: 4-5 hours
  • Altitude at Ratta Dho Camp: 4105 meters
  • Night Stay: Campsite on a twin-share basis

Trek to Ratta Dho (Lal Patthar), following the Har Ki Dun River. Climb through muddy trails and meadows, reaching a picturesque site before Borasu Glacier. Set up camp and enjoy the evening in a high-altitude meadow.

Day 5: Trek from Ratta Dho Camp to Upper Lamjunga Camp

  • Distance: 9 km
  • Duration: 5-6 hours
  • Altitude at Upper Lamjunga Camp: 4899 meters
  • Night Stay: Campsite on a twin-share basis

Ascend to Upper Lamjunga, passing rocky and grassy meadows. Traverse streams and ridges, reaching the campsite surrounded by snow-capped peaks and glaciers. Settle in for the night.

Day 6: Rest Day at Upper Lamjunga Camp

  • Altitude: 4899 meters

Enjoy a day of rest and acclimatization. Wake up late, partake in yoga and meditation, and plan the next day's trek with the guide. Explore the nearby area and prepare for the challenging trek ahead.

Day 7: Trek from Upper Lamjunga Camp to Borasu Pass Summit and Descend to Bonga Camp

  • Distance: 13 km
  • Duration: 7-8 hours
  • Altitude at Borasu Pass: 5450 meters
  • Night Stay: Campsite on a twin-share basis

Begin early for the challenging trek to Borasu Pass. Cross steep ridges and snow-covered paths, using ice axes and ropes. After reaching the summit, descend to Bonga Camp, known for its green meadows and clear streams. Rest and enjoy the stunning surroundings.

Day 8: Trek from Bonga Camp to Chitkul Village

  • Distance: 11 km
  • Duration: 6-7 hours
  • Altitude at Chitkul Village: 3450 meters

Trek through rocky terrains and streams, passing dense forests and meadows. Reach Chitkul, the last village on the trek. Explore the village, interact with locals, and enjoy the final moments of your trek.

  • Minimum age of the rider for this tour should be 19 years.
  • The tour can be cancelled if, the riders are less than 10 in number, per group.
  • If, any Trekker wants to leave the tour in between then he has to pay the transportation cost from the leaving point till Dehradun.
  • Trekker must have proper gears for the tour or they will not be allowed to join the group.
